How did it get to be New Year already? I’m only just getting used to the old one! Did someone say to celebrate? Just let me catch my breath first! Cultures from around the world have different traditions to welcome the New Year. In Spain, they eat 12 grapes at midnight. This tradition began in 1800’s in a grape growing area as a way to sell more grapes. Brilliant marketing strategy! In Scotland they have many traditions. A scottish friend once told me that they must pay all of their debts by New Year’s Eve, and everyone who comes to your house brings a traditional gift of salt, shortbread, coal or whiskey. In Brazil they throw white flowers into the ocean to bring blessings for the coming year. This is exciting! We have a whole New Year ahead of us, and the best way to proceed right now is NOT to carry the old energies of 2021 forward. This might take some effort and re-thinking, but it is worth doing. This is a time for laying some foundations and grounding ourselves for the year ahead. We need our plans and ideas (resolutions) to work for our benefit, and to materialise without too much effort or interference. This is the time for completing your old projects and planning your success with new beginnings. An attitude of gratitude carries great significance. Always maintaining a grateful mindset and attending to your inner feelings will keep you above the dreaded “yellow line” that marks the mental/emotional point of no return. It also help to develop your trust and find your inner balance. The world as we know it isn’t designed to give you balance of any kind. There is personal power in being a seeker of truth and wisdom. This is how you develop your intuition, that is, the knowing without knowing how you know. This will give you strength and resiliance that will never fail, even when life is turned upside down. When things don’t go your way, remember to breathe! Dig deep to find your inner wisdom. Endure everything with patience. Trust in the process of life. Develop your inner tranquil and serene qualities. Be considerate of others. Appreciate and enjoy nature. And be proud of yourself, because you need to recognise how far you’ve come. This will give you the mental and emotional energy to continue your journey through life. Remember, if you find yourself slipping toward that yellow line, you actually know a good Energy Practitioner who can help you.
