Brain Injuries Really Can Improve with Age! Problems that occur in the brain are not confined to the elderly. Many people have learning difficulties, disabilities, diagnosed or not, and traumatic head injuries. There are many scientific studies relating to the brain’s ability to heal itself. Neuroplasticity, the brain’s ability to heal and rewire itself after an injury, offers real hope to everyone with a brain, from the chronically stressed person to the stroke victim and Alzheimer’s disease, those with dyslexia, ADHD and acquired brain injuries. Apart from adding specific nutrients to a highly nutritious diet, there are a number of suggested activities that assist in the brain healing process. Music and dance, art, cross crawling exercises, brain gym and Intuitive Energy Healing are among the suggested methods that promote change in our brain’s ability to function. We need to be setting goals and following our dreams because persistence pays off in more ways than one. My own experience is an example of how perseverance can bring unexpected results. It also supports my understanding that, in spite of the changes to our minds and bodies from the stress, hardship and traumas of life, we are each still whole and complete, capable of getting on with our lives and doing difficult things. We can regain even more than we realise we’ve lost, which is particularly important when we suspect we’ve passed the point of no return. Case study for healing a stressed-out brain In 1977, I found a pattern for a beautiful shawl that I had every intention of making and wearing. However, life got in the way and I didn’t get started on this project until 1995, which incidentally, was the same time that I started studying and burning the candle at both ends. I dedicated myself to getting the job done though, because I wanted to wear this lovely thing. It was quick and easy getting the basic triangle done, and many people said “just wear it now.” But I loved the look of the one in the magazine, with its delicate, wide edging and fringe. After finishing the first few rows of the border, it became evident that there was something going majorly wrong, but being the eternal optimist, I thought “it’s OK, I’ll course correct as I go.” After another few rows, I had to do the unthinkable, and undo it because the mitred corner looked more like a drunkard’s path than a very neat, straight line. Over the following 25 years, as my “candle” was growing ever closer to fizzling out, I pulled the border out and started again at least five times, each time putting the project on hold, sometimes for a year or two, and other times, a decade. Early in 2021, it was time to make a decision – “I’m either finishing it or donating it!” Imagine my surprise when I found that I was able to follow the instructions and understand all of the little quirky bits that had me baffled in my previous attempts. That mitred corner is a sight to behold! I use this story often (and others like it) to illustrate the power and value of Energy Healing. The thing that makes it significant is the fact that for most of those 44 years, from the beginning to the present day, my brain was so fried by the stresses and trials of life that there was no way I could have solved that problem! Although I have no plans for wearing the shawl now, it may be one of my most valuable possessions. If I had not followed through on this project, I would never have known the true power of Intuitive Energy Healing. When we’re considering throwing in the towel, we all need to ask ourselves “when is enough really enough?” The answer is Never!! What do you imagine happens to our minds when we give up because things are hard or require some effort? The truth is, our mental energy and abilities adjust themselves to our level of expectation. Life requires effort, particularly if you want to experience anything more than vegging out and being fed three times a day. There is so much more genuine healing available to each of us than we are led to believe by those who dominate the health system. There is a quality of life that can’t be fully experienced by those who only use Western medicine to deal with their symptoms. Your body and brain is a healing machine. Sometimes, all that is needed is to stop looking outside of yourself for answers, turn your attention to what’s really happening inside, and allow your healing machine to do its job. I love Winnie the Pooh for his wise words to his friends – “You’re braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.” The solution to healing all disease and ailments becomes clear when you understand that energy is running every cell, organ and system. When health problems occur in any part of the brain or body, an Energy Healer helps identify causes of the suffering, then assists the body to heal itself by restoring the flow of energy to the affected parts.
